Doctors

Dr. Brianna Cormier

Dr. Brianna (Bradford) Cormier was welcomed to the MAVA team in August 2021. Originally from Howard County, Dr. Cormier knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian since childhood. She worked in animal hospitals, took care of therapy horses, and participated in veterinary service projects throughout school. She earned her BA in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and her DVM from Tuskegee University.

Specializing in small animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Cormier also brings expertise in small mammal medicine, treating exotics such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, degus, and chinchillas. She particularly enjoys client education and communication, working with clients to keep their pets healthy.

Dr. Cormier shares her home with two Catahoula Leopard dogs named Mable and Micah, a German Shorthaired Pointer named Tux, and Oliver, an orange tabby. When not working, she can be found running and hiking with her pups or playing basketball in the gym.

Dr. Liz Passmore

Maryland native Dr. Elizabeth Passmore joined Mount Airy Veterinary Associates in November 2023. Her life-long love of animals inspired her career in veterinary medicine and has only grown over the years. Dr. Passmore earned a Bachelor’s in Animal Science from the University of Maryland and her DVM from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Passmore brings extensive experience in general practice veterinary medicine in Beltsville, MD, and Jacksonville, NC. Having fun interacting with clients and teammates while trying to keep pets healthy is one of her favorite parts of her job. She loves working with clients to find the best care options for their pets. Dr. Passmore is passionate about early socialization and training, especially for dogs because it can prevent a whole host of issues, leading to a dog that is relaxed and enjoying its life, and an owner that can really enjoy their pet.

At home, Dr. Passmore has a female Irish Setter named Reagan and a male cat named Sam. She enjoys garden and home projects, horseback riding, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Anne Hicks

Dr. Hicks hails from Cambridge, Maryland. She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Western Maryland College in 1985, then attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA for her DVM in 1993. She worked at Eldersburg Veterinary Hospital and Anne Arundel Animal Hospital, before arriving at our sister hospital, EMRVC in 1995 where she also practice part-time.

She shares her home with her husband and two children. They have two dogs, Coco and Milo, and a cat named Mr. K.
